Diwali Vacation

It has been quite some time since I last took time off from work. This time around planned my holidays such that could get 9 days off, by just taking a single leave. Decided to celebrate Diwali after a long time. We went to KodaiKanal a hillstation resort in TamilNadu, abt 500 Kms drive from Bangalore. Went there with my family (Arjun, Sawani, My Dad & Mom). Drove down to Kodai in my new Suzuki Swift. It was the first excursion we took with this baby. It was a pretty neat drive, nice 4 Lane highway NH7 overall barring a 100 Kms of bad patch. Left at abt 10 am in the morning on Oct 29th from Bangalore and with stops for lunch, snacks and loo reached Kodai at abt 8 pm the same night. Mind you the last 48 kms is a steep mountainous climb to abt 6500 feet abt sea level. Kodai is a wonderful place. Stayed there at Sterling Resort's Hotel Lakeview, Dad had got a discount voucher through RCI which helped a lot. Spent about 4 days there, had a nice massage and took to relaxing, which was the main intent of this trip. It so always happens that we end up getting tired after a trip, due to rushing to see the different "spots" that this time around we decided to take it slow and easy. It was cool...were treated to lot of local kodai cuisine...and tons of home made chocolates. My little Arjun really feasted on them. Most of the time it was raining, and it was very cold and foggy, but the mornings were very clear. It was weird actually, early morning the sky is clear and the weather crisp but by early afternoon the weather changes and all clouds descend. My dad and mom also enjoyed. Will be posting some of the snaps once they are developed. Were back in Bangalore on the 2nd late night and still have some time off. It's funny i don't know how to while time away anymore without my laptop. While browsing came across a site called StumbleUpon, pretty cool. This thing has me hooked atleast for the time being....
