Mutton Curry & Wine, Hair Cut, Book Library & Cricket

This is a copy over post from my wordpress blog. I have decided to make this a personal diary and the wordpress blog a technical blog. I had posted this on 5/5/2008

Guess what, went in for a long overdue hair-cut yesterday evening to a nearby (about 1.5 km one-way from my house) salon. Decided to go walking since had feasted on delicious mutton (goat) curry made by my wife…alongwith delicious Goan Port Wine..so thought would be worth burning some calories..Spent sometime waiting and then had a nice clean hair cut and shave. Cost me 100 rs. While walking back, happened to glance across a billboard about a book library. Decided to check it out, and find out to be a neat little book library setup by a gentleman primarily from his own collection. Checked out the membership deal (150 rs/month + 100 rs onetime registration) and I can take 1 book at a time. No return period, read it till you finish it and return it back to take the next one. Not bad, since i really am feeling i need to put myself back into this (good) habit of reading. Took Dan Brown’s Deception Point. I had read The Da Vinci Code and was pretty impressed with it. Didn’t like the movie though… In any case, got the book and have already devoured 1/4 of it. Alongwith reading, I was also enjoying the IPL matches being played. Loved the Mumbai Indians v/s Delhi Daredevils match. With the “God” of cricket still sitting out, was thinking it would be a cakewalk for the DD. But the MI team was really charged up and pulled out a great performance to beat the DD. I also saw the Rajasthan Royals fighting it out with the Chennai Superkings. Although the CS is a great team, being at the top of tables, i think MSD (Mahendra Singh Dhoni) is getting a bit cocky in his approach. It was gr8 to see the RR’s beat the CS..under the amazing leadership of Shane Warne…

All in all a great day…
