First Weekend

Had an interesting weekend. We just literally lazed around in the house.  Me, Sawani and Arjun. We had a nice quite time together after a long time. Arjun has become one talkative jimbo...i call him "pakapakya" which in Marathi (that's my mother tongue) means talkative. Got a call from my dad on Saturday, thought that they (my mom and dad) must also be relaxing on the weekend, but lo and behold, I get a call from dad in the evening stating that they are in Dapoli. Now why that doesn't surprise me..well my parent's just love visiting places. In fact I feel they just can't sit in one place for long, their love for tourism is amazing. I wish I had that zeal, at that age, I just hope I can walk. Anyway's, dad and mom alongwith my dada Mama and dada mami went for a short trip to Dapoli (Mama had some agricultural conference..he's a very well know economist btw). They must be back in Pune now, I didn't get a chance to call them, they did mention that they would visit Vyagreshwar as well..(that's our kuldaivat...family deity) on the way back.

So what else did we do...well Arjun was busy with playing his 'cars' game, yes..the disney animation 'Cars' movie is now an interactive game for the kids. It's pretty interesting and there's some learning thrown in as well. Arjun does play the game pretty well now, btw: he's good at using my laptop as well...(oh btw: he'll be 5 in March) and can use the mouse effectively too.  Me and Sawani were just lounging, watching tv the whole day. Did get a couple of phone calls from my office, my team was working hard on the release for the 9th of Jan. Things look good as of now. We went for a nice walk in the evening, Arjun bicycling around in front of us as both me and Sawani went for about 5/6 rounds of our apt complex. It was pretty refreshing. Had a nice dinner (simple varan,tup mith, bhat) and signed off with a glass of mango milkshake.

Sunday was equally spent lazing around. I did spend some time (actually almost 2+ hrs) on trying to setup the Windows Live Writer to work with 2 blogger accounts. I migrated my networksteering website to blogger, and thought will start posting to it as well from Windows Live Writer, but for some reason it just doesn't seem to work. I still haven't figured out how I can post to that site, from here. Oh ..I really need to revive networksteering.  In all that exercise, the Live Writer actually screwed up the author of my earlier posts here. Don't know why it changed my user-name. There's something seriously wrong with blogger api and google needs to fix this soon. The error that i kept getting was something to do with cookie failures. Oh well...i need to spend some dedicated time to get that working. In the evening, again went out for a nice walk around our complex with Arjun on his bicycle. It's getting pretty cold out here in Bangalore these days. Had read about the trucker's strike due to the rise in diesel prices, so decided to fill up gas in my Suzuki Swift as well just to avoid petrol outages, long queues etc. Along the way decided to actually measure the loop (remember I mentioned I cycle a loop near my house on the weekends) and it turns out it's not 20-25 kms, but rather 15kms. So I stand corrected, I cycle about 15 kms in an hour on the weekends, mind you though the loop is not that easy, it has quite a bit of climbs and even in real cold weather, leaves me completely drenched in sweat.

So all in all a nice 1st weekend of the year...
